At the request of Fairy Mary, Tinker Bell is assigned the task of designing a special scepter for displaying the one-of-a-kind blue moonstone. At the Autumn Revelry, the light from the harvest moon will strike the stone, creating a supply of pixie dust that the fairies need for flying. Tinker Bell’s best friend is Terrence whose clumsiness leads to the destruction of both the scepter and the stone. Soon afterwards, Tinker Bell’s anger destroys their friendship. Alone and unhappy, she must risk her life as she travels on a dangerous journey in search of a magical mirror that will hopefully restore the scepter and stone. She must find it in time for the Autumn Revelry or there will be no more pixie dust and life in Pixie Hollow will be drastically altered forever.

Everyone of all ages should see “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” because everyone needs a friend. This is definitely a heart-warming, family film from Walt Disney. It is a beautiful, sweet story that stresses the importance of friendship and forgiveness. A few harsh words can easily destroy the friendship you share with someone. But a few simple words – “Please forgive me.” – can easily restore it. Tinker Bell soon learns the errors of her ways when she encounters trolls, rats and other obstacles. The lost treasure that is referred to in the title is not the magic mirror that she seeks but the friendship she once shared with Terrence.

Destined to become another classic, “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” is romantic adventure that comes from the heart. I was pleasantly surprised. Having enjoyed this film, I must see the sequel, “Tinker Bell: A Winter Story;” its trailer is provided in the special features. I enjoyed the film’s bloopers, which were cute. The deleted scenes were roughly drawn sketches with voiceovers. They consisted of the vortex that endangers Tinker Bell’s flying machine; more antics from the trolls; Tinker Bell bravely threatening a bullfrog to spit out her firefly friend, Blaze; and a tearful goodbye when Blaze rejoins his family. Most of these scenes were heartwarming because they emphasized the importance of friendship.

Stephen King’s massive new critically acclaimed novel Under the Dome and Pixar’s wonderful Up DVD will be released tomorrow on Tuesday November 10^th.  Walmart will have both for under $30.  Swing by the retailer on your way to work, pick them up and you will have hours of worthwhile Fall entertainment!  They also make great stocking stuffers.

There are over 40 titles being released this week.  I see only one of them occupying my disc tray throughout the better portion of next year.

Activision and Infinity Ward release the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.  An early contender for game of the year, it ships out tonight at Midnight on the consoles and PC.  I’ll be in line anxiously awaiting the arrival of my official MW2 night-vision goggles, which come boxed with the prestige edition of the game.  We’ll soon find out if the old saying is true: one fan boy’s dream is a next-door neighbor’s nightmare.

Apple has launched a new Reserve and Pick Up service ahead of the holiday shopping season that allows customers to reserve products online for pick up in one of Apple’s retail stores. Included in the service are all models of iPod, and most Mac computers; curiously missing from the reservation system is the Apple TV, while the iPhone link simply pops up a message promoting the iPhone Gift Card. All iPods and laptops are also available for gift wrapping. No charge is applied at the time of reservation; instead, customers must pay in the store when picking their items up between December 15 and 24.

The countdown is officially on.  The most anticipated game of the year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, lands in stores on 11/10/09.  More than 500 Best Buys and 4,200 GameStops nationwide will be hosting midnight launch events next week. 

Another sweet Black Friday deal.  Clothing retailer Old Navy will be giving away free copies of LEGO Rock Band with every $20 purchase.  They’ll also be giving away free guitar controllers with any purchase of Rock Band 2.

The Blu-ray edition of the Halo Legends anime project is scheduled for release on February 9, 2010.  Halo Legends assembles some of the finest talent in Japanese animation to explore the mystery and action of the Halo universe.  The Blu-Ray will collect eight anime episodes which showcase a stunning range of visual styles and shed new light and epic perspective on Halo lore.

The impossible union of the Microsoft exclusive Halo and the Sony-developed Blu-ray will not only arrive on the same day as the Halo Legends DVD release, but it will also contain an exclusive overview of the series through the events of Halo 3. (Written by Nick Creature)
