Legendary Comic Book Creator Neal Adams Returns To Batman In 2010.

April 2, 2010

Legendary comic book creator Neal Adams will be returning to Batman in 2010.

Batman: Odyssey, a 12-part mini-series launching in July, brings Adams back to the character he helped redefine. Adams’ energetic, realistic and sweeping style is both timeless and modern, and its an understatement to say his return to The Dark Knight has been something fans have been clamoring for.

Odyssey finds Batman facing a series of seemingly unrelated challenges, villains and allies, old and new, that push him to his limits as never before. The battles get more intense and, in turn, more deadly, The Dark Knight Detective discovers that there might be an over-arching force behind his troubles. And if this is so, if there is a dark and mysterious matrix being super-imposed over Batman’s life… what sort of life-changing voyage must he go on to free himself from this powerful and insidious direction?

Worse… where can he go that he has never gone before for his desperately needed Odyssey?

“I have been collecting bits and pieces of Batman’s life and time over the years since I was doing Batman regularly,” Adams said. “With even this massive series, I haven’t been able to shove them all in. but the juiciest and richest morsels are there. Have comic books always been this much fun?”

Adams, who will write and pencil the entire series, will also ink the first two issues, followed by pairings with some of the most lauded artistic collaborators in the comic book industry.

John Grisham Writes First-Ever Children’s Book, Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer

April 2, 2010

John Grisham, the mega-selling author behind such legal thrillers as “The Firm” and “The Pelican Brief,” will write two books for young readers. But he won’t be straying far from the courtroom settings that made him a literary star. Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer will be his first offering for Penguin Young Readers Group. The publisher says it will tell the story of a “13-year-old amateur attorney who unwittingly becomes involved in a high-profile murder trial.” A second novel featuring Boone is scheduled for 2011.

Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer is described as follows:

“A perfect murder

A faceless witness

A lone courtroom champion knows the whole truth . . . and he’s only thirteen years old

Meet Theodore Boone

In the small city of Strattenburg, there are many lawyers, and though he’s only thirteen years old, Theo Boone thinks he’s one of them. Theo knows every judge, policeman, court clerk—and a lot about the law. He dreams of being a great trial lawyer, of a life in the courtroom.

But Theo finds himself in court much sooner than expected. Because he knows so much—maybe too much—he is suddenly dragged into the middle of a sensational murder trial. A cold-blooded killer is about to go free, and only Theo knows the truth.

The stakes are high, but Theo won’t stop until justice is served.”

Brimming with the intrigue and suspense that made John Grisham a #1 international bestseller and the undisputed master of the legal thriller, Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer will keep readers guessing and pages turning.

The 288 page hardcover ($16.99) is due in stores on May 25, 2010.
