Content on loaded onto the iPod includes both photos and videos from the Queen’s 2007 visit to the United States, photos from President Obama’s inauguration, audio of then-Illinois Senator Obama’s speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, and audio of his Inauguration address. Regional Foods You Hate to Love

April 1, 2009

Walk into any Pennsylvania diner and you’re likely to overhear someone at a neighboring table ordering “scrapple.” What’s that, you ask? A mixture of pork scraps and cornmeal that’s been molded, sliced and fried, scrapple is a dish that’s beloved (and fiercely defended) in regions surrounding eastern Pennsylvania. And it’s not the only questionable local delicacy of its kind. HERE is a culinary tour of America’s most bizarre—but beloved—regional delicacies. From salmon-based Eskimo Ice Cream to Hawaii’s popular Spam musubi, the dishes below are sure to both satisfy your curiosity and test your gag reflex.

Doh…Simpson Stamps

April 1, 2009

The Simpsons are being immortalized on stamps to be launched by the U.S. Postal Service later this year.

The 44-cent first-class mail stamps, designed by Simpsons creator and executive producer Matt Groening, will feature Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson.

The stamps, a sneak peek for which will be unveiled April 9, also will help celebrate the longest-running primetime comedy’s 20th anniversary this year.

The Postal Service receives about 50,000 stamp suggestions per year, but only about 20 ideas make the cut, the companies said.

“This has been a dream for Fox and ‘The Simpsons’ creative teams for some time, and we’ve finally made the cut!” said Elie Dekel, executive vp licensing and merchandising at News Corp.’s 20th Century Fox licensing and merchandising unit.
